In certain circumstances you will want to share files from a XP computer, but you don’t necessarily want that computer to be browsable in Network Neighbourhood for security reasons. The easiest way to "hide" that computer from Network Neighbourhood but not the share is to run one command on the computer you are sharing;

Run net config server /hidden:yes
