Transfer Bookmarks and Favorites

Posted on 01 January 2009 by admin

Backing up and restoring your Favorites and Bookmarks has become increasingly easy over the years with improved import and export abilities from within browsers.  It is a little time consuming, but there is a utility that makes life a lot easier.  You can transfer your bookmarks or favorites from any browser to any browser with the click of a button.

The solution isTransmute.  Transmute supports Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer, Opera and Safari.  Once you have installed Transmute just launch the program.

Select your source browser (the browser you want to copy FROM) and then select the target browser (the browser you want to copy TO) from the drop down menus.  Click Export.

Under the Target button you see Options, this lets you select advanced export options such as changing folders or time stamps.
