Although I’m not the biggest fan of Office 2007, there are a few new tools that I have found very handy to use.  Among them is Word 2007’s Blogging Features.  You can create and edit Blog posts straight from Word and Publish them to your blog.

To Create a new blog entry click on the Office button in the upper left hand corner then select New.  You will see New Blog Post.  Double-click or highlight and  click Create.

If you already have an account setup it will automatically take you to the Blog Editing window.  If you haven’t set up an account yet, the new Blog Account Wizard will launch.

The first question is the blogging platform you are using.  In my case it is Blojsom so I select other.

Input your server and login information in the next screen.

Now enter in the relevant information for your site, and choose whether to remember the password.

There is also a Pictures Options button.  If you use images in your blog this is a handy feature to use. You can automatically upload your images to your site without having to FTP them or link them in a gui.

Once the dirty work is done you can start blogging.  You have the full spectrum of standard Word editing options from Bold and Underline to Headings and Fonts.

If you want to edit an old post you can simply go to Open Existing to open a previous blog entry.

When you are finished typing you simply click the Publish button and your Blog Entry is automatically posted to your site and it is live!
