Windows Vista Email Notification of Events and Tasks
Posted on 29 March 2007 by admin
Feeling lonely? Nobody emailing you, well now your favourite operating system can make you feel loved too! Windows Vista can send you emails! Events can be configured so that you are sent an email for notification purposes!
You can access the Computer Management tool by right-clicking “Computer” and selecting “Manage” from the menu. The difference now is that you can attach a task to any event. Try navigating through System Tools – Event Viewer - Windows Logs - Application.
Now, go ahead and select an event – then look to the rightmost pane and click “Attach Task to This Event.”
Give it a name, give it a description and click through the next step, then in the Action step, you’ll see the “Send an e-mail” option.
You can configure this setting with an email address you wish to be notified at when an event occurs, fails, restarts etc.
